    • Cookieless audience measurement: Before analytics are accepted, PostHog receives pageviews without browser persistence and counts visitors with a rotating, server-generated privacy-preserving hash. The IP address is stripped before GeoIP enrichment in this mode.
    • Advertising IDs: Click identifiers from various platforms (Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok) if you arrived via an advertisement

    If you accept analytics, PostHog enables first-party persistence and fuller interaction analytics. If you continue without analytics cookies, PostHog records only cookieless pageviews; Google Tag Manager remains off. We also configure PostHog to respect your browser's Do Not Track preference, in which case PostHog events are not sent.
